What’s New in Extrusion Cooling: Warm Water!
It sounds crazy, but the fastest way to cool large pipe and profiles may be to “temper” your cooling water. Laboratory and field testing shows that increasing water temperature in the first stages of cooling can actually speed heat transfer and minimize cooling-related quality problems.

Ever wonder why engineering polymers need to be dried?
When engineering materials like polycarbonate, nylon and PET are heated during processing, moisture inside each pellet boils off, causing all sorts of quality problems. How does it get in there? More important, how do you remove it? Everything happens at a molecular level and we’ve captured it on video. Coming next month: The Fundamental Drying Parameters.
