New ELC Vacuum System Controls from Conair Make Precise Material Loader Operation Easy
New ELC vacuum loading system controls from Conair are available in two configurations: the ELC-M for use with self-contained loaders and the ELC-16 for single-pump central vacuum systems with up to 16 receivers. Either model will provide precise digital accuracy and repeatability. The ELC units install and power up in minutes, giving users access to basic loader functions through a standard display, or the ability to add and adjust functions with an optional ControlMate pendant.
ELC functions are controlled by pushbuttons on the unit’s built-in display, with system status shown on LED indicator lights and equipment icons. Both the ELC-M unit, which mounts on self-contained motor loaders, and the ELC-16 unit, which mounts on receivers served by a central vacuum system, offer the two standard control functions of On/Off, and Load-Time adjustment. The units have the same compact dimensions, 4.5 x 6.0 x 2.9 inches (114.4 x 152.4 x 73.0 mm), and are equipped with power and communications for connections to Conair loaders and receivers.
The optional ControlMate pendant expands the capabilities of the basic ELC controls, by allowing users to enable higher-level functions and change settings that need less frequent adjustment. It comes complete with a 10-ft. (3-m) power/communications cable and a surface-mount cradle for convenient access and easy storage. Working from ground level, operators can adjust settings for:
In addition, a second level of control allows users to configure the control for;
In applications involving a central vacuum system and multiple receivers, a central ELC power supply/pump control unit is required. The central unit communicates with ELC-16 systems of up to 16 vacuum receivers via a CAN open (field bus) network. Unlike earlier central vacuum controls that respond to demand signals sequentially based on a receiver’s physical location, the ELC’s central control responds to receiver demand signals on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis, thus ensuring an uninterrupted flow of material to the most active processing equipment. When necessary, the priority demand feature can be enabled on a given loader so that the system always gives first priority to that loader when it calls for material.
